Our Offer to you
Anima offers an alternative, immersive experience which carries the audience into a unique, uplifting space.
This stunning acapella quartet sing inspirational songs of enchantment and soul quests, a magical fusion of folk and soul, Anima means 'soul' and 'breath of life'. Following in the footsteps of artists like Bobby McFerrin and Sweet Honey in the Rock, Anima traverses a wide musical landscape, from the exhilarating upbeat energy of jazz, through rhythmic soul numbers, to haunting irish folk. Join us for an unforgettable experience of music that touches the soul.
The songs take their inspiration from Lorca, Yeats, Rumi and the group's composers themselves and cover a wide musical terrain, both dynamic and contemplative.
In addition to concerts and festivals, Anima have helped create site specific work eg: 'singing the building' where audiences promenade with the singers through different spaces, as well as collaborating in creating rituals and ceremonies such as coming of age, weddings, naming days or memorials or respite for staff and patients in hospitals and hospices.
Anima can offer a range of performances from 45 - 90 minutes of original, A Cappella singing that will transport, involve and uplift audiences.
We offer workshops in the afternoon of an evening performance, giving audience members the opportunity to be involved in parts of the final performance to create a powerful, unified experience.
We offer lunchtime concerts with the emphasis on providing a relaxing, inspiring oasis in the middle of the day or candlelit evening concerts to create a magical sound world which bathes the senses.
We perform in spaces where such music is rarely heard (e.g. workplace halls/atria; hospitals/hospices; remarkable or unused buildings/spaces)
